A few months back, i tried to capture smoke and posted the pic in my blog - i was'nt satisfied as i knew something was not right - this time i think i have got the technique right - still experimenting - flash was fired

I think you did get the technique right. Love the composition of the shot. It is interesting how simple it looks but difficult to capture. Well done!

very interesting wud love to know how you do this, i have seen other pics where they have different colors of smoke too! wondering how to achieve such results. thanks for sharing :)

@Babul Bhatt: Firstly you may wanna achieve the max DOF - hence dont get too close to the smoke- keep your aperture small - fire the flash against a black bkgrnd - you can light the smoke from the side too -pre focussing with self timer set also helps - burst shot can also be used - then process it by inverting the colors - i am still working on the composition to remove the inherent noise that you get, when capturing smoke......the source of smoke also adds a dramatic effect - avoid candle smoke

@kairospix: Thanks man - i used the smoke from a thick incense stick - dense smoke looks better
i like smoke dancing very much.. and you captured it very good...
